From the celestial to the terrestrial, Janick is passionate about the elements that make up our landscapes. According to her, photography is the best way to unite creativity and discovery. Photography is the art of capturing a moment or a surprise, to explore from another angle and to stop.
It’s by walking the trails and waterways or camping in unusual places that she savors at every opportunity the landscapes of Western Canada, her place of residence since 2018. Always up for a hiking or camping outing, a bike ride, or a water excursion, she makes sure to get moving and collect pictures that make you dream…
According to Janick, fall is the season that has the most to offer. Between two sunsets, she enjoys the colors and smells of the forest. Her feminist side makes her defy stereotypes and rub shoulders with Mother Nature during activities such as hunting and fishing.
Through her career in architecture and her passion for design, she is interested in the evolution of the landscape and the integration of nature in the built environment. It was her studies in architecture that allowed her to discover Europe during a year of study at the National School of Architecture and Landscape of Bordeaux. She had a taste for backpacking in 2015 when she made her first solo trip: the tour of Ireland. This trip was followed by multiple destinations such as Scotland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Hawaii.
Weekends, when she stays at home, are rare. As soon as she has the opportunity, she goes on a discovery trip. Her go-getter character and vitality feed her thirst for adventure and novelty. This year, she is challenging herself to take a long-distance hike and a SUP-Camping excursion in the Canadian Rockies.
